  • Our intermediate/advanced retreats are designed for women who can paddle themselves out into the line-up, catch their own waves and go along a green face.

    Our beginner retreats are for women who have never surfed before or a still building their confidence and skills. You will get a lot of extra support at this level.

  • Absolutely! We designed these retreats to support people who may not be feeling 100% confident in medium-large waves or need some extra support in navigating a crowded line-up.

    Your coach is there with you in the water to guide you on the best place to sit, how to choose the right wave and hold your place in the line-up.

    If the forecast looks large we also have a range of unknown spots we can venture to that don’t get as big.

    We plan our beginner retreats around the main swell season, which means we usually avoid the larger swells for those starting out.

  • You're welcome to bring your own, but it's not essential. Domestic flights with Sansa only permit boards up to 7ft and charge $1.50 per extra kilogram if you are over your allocated baggage limit.

    We have a range of boards available for use during the retreat, including longboards, shortboards and foam boards for beginners. These are provided at no extra cost.

  • Absolutely. Many of our guests come solo and leave with lasting friendships. The intimate group setting and shared experiences create a supportive, welcoming environment from day one.

  • Southern Costa Rica enjoys a tropical climate.

    Expect warm temperatures year-round, with the dry season running from December to April and the rainy season bringing afternoon showers from May to November.

    The waves are typically are more consistent during the rainy season. However, the dry season is perfect to learn.

  • We're located in Pavón, in the Puntarenas Province.

    The easiest route is to fly into San José, then take a domestic flight to Golfito followed by a scenic two-hour drive.

    If you are flying domestically from San Jose, we recommend taking the 10:30am flight to Golfito and the 3:40pm flight on the return to San Jose.

    Your transfer to/from Golfito is covered and will send detailed directions once you book.

    If you are arriving by bus, car or via Panama — we can also pick you up from Paso Canoas.

  • Book a call with Savannah to chat about the retreat and ask any questions. Once you're ready, we'll send you a booking link to reserve your place with a deposit or pay in full.

    If you are already certain this retreats for you. You can go ahead and reserve your spot by either paying the deposit online or paying in full.

  • Unfortunately, as this is an all-inclusive retreat no outside guests are permitted.

    We also wish to keep this as a women’s space so that everyone feels comfortable and safe.

  • Yes, we provide your itinerary 30 days prior to the start of your retreat.

    Noting that activities and planned events can be subject to change depending on conditions and weather. We will always endeavor to provide as much notice with any changes as possible.

    If there is an activity a guest doesn’t wish to participate in they are welcome to opt out.

  • Usually we space out activities, but at times there will be back to back items. Such as yoga after our surf session.

    If you want to spend a little longer in the water, you’re welcome to opt out of that activity.

    We always plan to put a 30min buffer between surfing and another activity so you have time to rinse off and freshen up.

  • Siempre Olas Retreats are a safe, positive and welcoming space for women to improve their surfing and enjoy the tranquility of Pavones.

    We don’t permit any bullying, disrespect or condescending behavior towards other guests, vendors or retreat hosts.

    Anti-social behavior at our retreat venue is also not permitted. This includes:

    • Excessive noise

    • Smoking

    • Drug Use

    • Drinking to excess

    • Threats to others

    • Violence or verbal abuse

    Mean girl behavior is not welcome. If behavior is not aligned with the above values and our code of conduct then a warning will be issued. If bad behavior continues and it is impacting other guests you will be asked to leave.

    Any issues need to be brought directly to your retreat host in a respectful manner.

  • Included activities are:

    • Two yoga sessions

    • Tiskita Jungle Tour & Waterfall visit

    • Sunset Picnic

    • Sunset Drinks and Dinner at Rancho Burica in Punta Banco

    If you wish to do anything additional we are happy to make recommendations and put you in contact with activity providers.

  • We include five videography sessions throughout the week (including one session with a drone - if conditions permit).

    Sessions may be subject to change, however, we will ensure that five sessions are provided if the times need to be moved.

  • We take videos from your sessions and upload them to our custom built app where we can analyze them daily.

    On the app your coach can make recommendations for improve, identify your strengths and any barriers that are holding you back.

  • Our retreats are capped at four people. This allows for maximum coaching time and a relaxed setting.
